Welcome to the Official Website for André Price.
André Price is a professional historian, lecturer and a City of London tour guide. He has a BA (Hons) degree in history and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Adult and Higher Education. André lectures on ancient and modern history and specialises in the history of London, from the Romans to the 20th century. He enjoys sharing London's unique culture and heritage with everyone from students to tourists and conducts walking tours exploring London's fascinating history and legends.
Being of Huguenot descent, André has a great passion for historic Spitalfields, located in London's 'East End'. He is knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Spitalfields and is also a keen Ripperologist, noted for his extensive knowledge of the unsolved Whitechapel Murders of 1888. He resides in the 'East End' of London and has been researching the 'Jack the Ripper Murders' for over thirty years. He used to live above the Ten Bells Pub in Spitalfields which was once frequented by Jack the Ripper's victims. André regularly leads guided walks on the 'Jack the Ripper Murders' and he has a number of personal links and connections to the case which he reveals in an enthralling climax at the end of each tour. This, combined with his vast original research, has provided him with a unique insight as to the possible motive of the infamous killer known as 'Jack the Ripper'.
A popular speaker and broadcaster, André makes regular appearances in the media and has featured in a variety of television programs, films and documentaries. He also advises on the production of television programs and was the key contributor and presenter on the Eerie Investigations documentary 'Jack the Ripper' for Edge Media TV which was broadcast on SKY Television. He became a Freeman of the City of London in June 2002.
André was filmed presenting his Jack the Ripper research for a new series on DStv called 'Mind the Gap'. The program is presented by broadcaster Neil Andrews (left) and they were accompanied by cricket commentator Mike Haysman (right). Together they retraced the shadowy footsteps of Jack the Ripper in London's East End.
